Gideon Rubin and Eldar Farber exhibition at Rubin Museum

On display in the second floor gallery of Rubin Meseum, as of Sept. 4th, is the exhibition NOF displaying twenty landscapes by Eldar Farber and Gideon Rubin. The exhibition is the outcome of the meeting of 2 artists and the ensuing dialogue between them. Eldar Farber and Gideon Rubin are Israeli born but they live and work outside of Israel, Farber in Berlin and in Tel Aviv and Gideon Rubin in London.

Landscape is a central theme in Farber's art, and less so in Rubin's. Their visual language as well as their personal temperament are very different. Common however, is their concept of the landscape as a stimulant to express that which is beyond what the eye sees, an aesthetic that knows to set itself free from documentation, and focus on the application of paint onto the canvas.
